Pre Audit Process
The Lead Auditor gathers historic and current information that will assist the team to perform an effective and focused assessment, using information available from:
ALGI libraries and databases
Applicable government and legal information
Direct consultation with NGOs and other interested parties regarding the facility being assessed and/or local conditions for the industry.
On site Process
The assessment starts with an opening conference with management and continues with a visual inspection of the facility, confidential interviews with workers, union and other worker representatives, is a critical component of the assessment.
Records are sampled and cross-referenced with other information gathered. Additional investigation is conducted as necessary before reaching objective conclusions. At the end, a closing meeting with management takes place, to ensure agreement on any findings and corrective actions to be implement.
