Last March 13th and 14th, was held the Sedex Annual Conference 2018 at the iconic venue ‘The Brewery’, located in the center of London’s financial district. ALGI executives were able to represent the company at this important event that brings together hundreds of businesses from across the globe to meet face-to-face, share ideas and learn about the issues that matter to every responsible business.
This venue hosted more than 40 speakers, from executives to academics who focused on discussing changes on systems, citizen innovation, shifting retail and consumption, and changes in technology including block chain development.
Also, since the theme for this year was Impact through Leadership -the responsibility that must go beyond compliance- the discussions, panels and presentations went around the fact that audit and measurement alone would not make the change required, and companies should embed ethical values in a holistic way by ensuring all organizations maintain standards once ‘compliance’ has been achieved by empowering workers, motivating people to be their own leaders through educational programs, and solidifying communities through governmental support in this area.
During the conference, our Europe Regional Manager, Bjarne Moeller, was interviewed to provide a summary of the most important aspects from the days of the conference and the new challenges the social compliance stakeholders face nowadays.
We invite you to watch our interview in the following link and continue working with the compromise of seeing social compliance as a new way for providing employees and workers a fair, safe, protected and empowered work environment for them.
